Wool (Merino Extrafine)
Merino wool is among the best and highest-quality types of wool in the world. This wool comes from Merino sheep, known for their dense, evenly long fleece. This breed produces wool that is highly crimped, soft, lightweight, and very elastic – and above all, non-itchy.
For our garments, we use exclusively extra-fine merino wool from yarn manufacturers in Italy to ensure the highest quality and comfort.
- Soft, very fine fibers
- Lightweight
- Excellent thermal insulation
- Temperature-regulating (warms when cold, cools when warm)
- Odor-neutral
- Moisture-wicking (absorbs moisture without feeling damp)
- Skin-friendly and less itchy compared to conventional wool
Storage
Make sure to air out and dry your garments well before storing them. It is best to store them neatly folded in a cool place protected from direct sunlight. It is important not to store your knitwear hanging for long periods (e.g., on hangers), as the garment can stretch out and lose its shape. Cedarwood and lavender sachets are excellent natural moth repellents. However, be careful that neither cedarwood nor lavender sachets come into direct contact with your garment, as this can cause stains.
Pilling
Although high-quality, long fibers are used, pilling can occur due to wear during use. This is normal for especially soft yarns and decreases over time as the shorter fibers come loose. We recommend minimizing friction risk by, for example, not wearing heavy jackets with rough linings. To remove small pills, it is advisable to use a special electric wool shaver. Lay the garment flat and gently use the shaver along the knit direction without applying too much pressure.
